The solid Gauge Cap is used for collecting static / residual pressures from a hydrant in a fire flow test. The Gauge Cap attaches to a 2 1/2" NST nozzle port on the test hydrant. It comes assembled as shown. The quarter-turn 1/4" ball valve is easy on the hands to operate. The solid gauge cap costs less than the swivel gauge cap but when tightened on a hydrant nozzle, the gauge may be facing the wrong way. A Quick Disconnect Coupling (QDCOUP) is recommended to use on the gauge and the gauge port. A guage is needed and is sold separately.
