A 4 1/2" NST x 2 1/2" NST Adapter would be used in fire flow testing or flushing operations to enable a 2 1/2" hose to be connected to the 4 1/2" pumper port of a hydrant. This allows a shorter hose to be used without any bends or potential kinks. This adapter can be used with 2 1/2" x 5' hose to position the Hose Monster directly in the street gutter and not too far into the street.
