A hydrant gate valve used while flow testing or flushing means reduced stress on the hydrant and a greatly reduced chance of accidental water hammer. Also, if the hydrant happens to go bad during a flowing operation, just close the gate valve.

Until now such a valve was impractical due to size and weight. This valve weighs only 15 pounds and measures 10 1/2" end to end.

If flushing or flow testing WITHOUT the Dechlor Demon, attach this gate valve directly to the hydrant, then attach hose and Hose Monster.

If flushing or flow testing WITH the Dechlor Demon, attach the DD to the hydrant and the gate valve to the DD. This option also enables the mixing tank of the Dechlor Demon to be filled with ease and control.
